Shopping in Richmond: Saturdays With Claville Fashion Truck

Shopping in Richmond: Saturdays with Claville Fashion Truck

I’m sitting here with Dominique. She’s interested in fashion and business. Thanks to a dear friend, Molly, who works as a guidance counselor at a Richmond school, she’s my new Sweet Sauce intern! She’s so adorable and has lots of questions. I welcomed her into my office and closet today. One of her first questions? Where do you do your shopping in Richmond? Well… here’s to a great idea for a series!

You know I have my favorites… Mod & Soul, Goodwill, Clothes Mentor, Blue Bones, Rosewood, and the list goes on. Claville Fashion Truck has been a favorite shopping spot for years. You can see my posts here, here, here, here, and here. From floral dresses, to the off the shoulder tops, to adorable accessories, the mobile fashion boutique really has it all. Lucky for you, you can find Claville all over the city this summer. I recommend hitting them up at the Shops at Wellesley. I’ve written about my experiences in this shopping center at Corner Barre, 9 Round Fitness, and Relax Nails.

What to Shop For

I recently stopped by Claville to pick up a new fun and floral top or dress. I love all of my floral items and wanted to add more to my summer style arsenal. The truck was packed with tons of bright colors, but also basic white and black items every lady needs.

I landed on this floral off-the-shoulder top for a few reasons. the fabric was flowing and breezy for hot summer days. the back was long enough to cover my booty like a tunic. The elastic of the top was comfortable. Some off-the-shoulder tops are really difficult to keep up and also leave marks on my shoulders. I don’t mess with those any more. The tie detail at the wrist is a fun and feminine touch. Here, I’m wearing it with jean shorts, but could easily rock it with white or denim flares (and heels!) or skinny jeans.

I also picked up a pair of gold minimalist geometric earrings. I don’t even know what to call these babies. They’ve replaced a pair of studs I lost for everyday looks. They’re simple, fun, and interesting. Claville always has a drawer full of earrings that are dreamy and funky. I really don’t think you can have enough great earrings. I always feel like I need more.

While I was shopping, another woman came in and we all worked together to create four outfits for her. She was headed out on vacation and picked up several flowing tops, a few pendant necklaces, and dresses. She was got pretty much everything she needed to look breezy and beautiful. Hope she’s taking in the sun now!

I wonder where else she goes shopping in Richmond…

What else to do in the area

After you’re done shopping, plan to visit a barre class. The first one is free at Corner Barre! I wrote about my time at the studio here.

I’ve had a mani-pedi or two at Relax Nails. It’s a simple, standard nail salon that always has room for walk-ins. See my holiday pedi here and get some tips to get party ready.

I’m really excited to try Patina Grill and the Hungry Dragon. Both have great reviews and would be perfect for a ladies lunch or happy hour.

To see where else you can shop with Claville, visit them online, on Instagram, or on Facebook. Not only do they share their weekly schedule, but you’ll get sneak peaks of what’s new in the boutique.
