What To Bring During a Fall Weekend in The Outer Banks with Shady Rays

What To Bring on a Fall Weekend in The Outer Banks with Shady Rays

I’m a fall baby. I’ve always loved the vibrant colors and cool refreshing breezes of change. The inspiring onset of the holidays and permission to morph into a new you is what fall is all about. At the same time, I’m also a summer girl through and through. I live for a long day and an even longer night. I’m happier with a sunkissed glow on my legs and a prismatic sunset to stare into. There is a special place where the two seasons can meet: fall in the Outer Banks.

Here, it’s still easy enough to catch an 80 degree day well into October and early November. A chilly night on the beach is welcome, though. The restaurants are still open, but with shorter waits. There’s something even more colorful about the sunsets, too. A fall weekend in the Outer Banks feels like a deep breath before the winter.

I recently spent 3 days here with a girlfriend. We stayed in the cutest beachside cottages for a good deal. You can see all of my favorite Airbnb finds in the Outer Banks here! Our weekend was inspired by a partnership with Shady Rays and Outer Banks. They’re giving away 7 days in OBX and surf lessons! More info below!

Shop My Fall Beach Weekend Outfit:

I picked up a few awesome finds  during the past year to build the perfect fall beach weekend outfit. A few favorite pieces linked below include:

  • a cropped jean jacket
  • comfortable cropped pants
  • a flowing tank top
  • a durable straw hat
  • a good claw clip
  • My Fenty Setting Spray. It’s the ideal tool to cool down and keep your makeup fresh on the beach

My travel buddy brought a book, Seven Husbands, which she’s reading with her book club.  I think Letters to a Young Poet is the perfect beach book, which features shorter chapters full of dreams for short moments of reading.

Bring Your Shady Rays Sunglasses to the Outer Banks

You’ve got to have sunglasses no matter time of year you plan a getaway in OBX. Shady Rays is here for the rescue. Their collection of men’s and women’s polarized shades feature Lost and Broken Protection that give regular hardy travelers like me a sense of security when I hit the beach any season.  Bonus: In partnership with Feeding America, Shady Rays donates 10 meals to fight hunger in America with every order–more than 20 million meals and counting to date!

My man loves the Highrise frames and the Signature series. I made a pair of Allure frames and Oakmont sunglasses.
