How to Look Well Rested When You’re Not

how to look well rested when you haven't slept

I may be the master of rallying after a long night of hanging with friends or burning the midnight oil at my laptop. I’m a work hard play hard kind of gal. I don’t always get the sleep I need but I always like to look and feel my best. I have a few regular tips to look well-rested when I didn’t get the sleep I really needed. It’s a fake it until you make it strategy and it calls upon some common sense and some of my favorite products. When you have dark circles and bags under your eyes, try these tactics and products…

Drink water and don’t stop.

I’ve said it many times, but hydration is key to healthy-looking skin. It will ensure you’re glowing from the inside out. Add lemons or a mix like my favorite Watermelon Amino Acid powder.

Grab a jade roller or ice roller.

I have two jade rollers. One is kept in the freezer for the days I really need the extra oomph. They’re so affordable. Pro tip: roll from your inner eye/ nose outward. I also add in some facial massages with my hands. I love this Instagram account All You Can Face for facial massage ideas and inspiration. You’ll feel better and look well-rested after a few minutes!

Slide on this Tula Eye Balm.

It couldn’t be easier to look well-rested than using this Tula Brightening Eye Balm. I actually use it almost every day. It adds a reflective layer of moisture and cools down your under eyes immediately.

Apply golden undereye masks.

I discovered these Wander Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks during my mask-hoarding frenzy of quarantine. First of all, I actually don’t feel like a monster when I’m wearing them. You know what I mean, right? After you’re done, you’re under eyes will feel moisturized and a bit cool once you’re done. Bye bye dark circles and under-eye bags.

I swear by this undereye concealer.

Blogger Payton Sartain endorsed this Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination™ Full Coverage Anti-Aging Waterproof Concealer by IT Cosmetics. It doesn’t dry out my skin, a little goes a long way, and it absolutely transforms my face in a few seconds. I can’t recommend it enough.

Blush it up in the right places.

We’re doing blush a little differently these days. We’re not just brushing the apples of our cheeks, but we’re swiping the tips of our nose and our forehead for a warm, sunkissed look.  We all love the Nars in Orgasm for blush. Look well-rested and then some with this little makeup hack!
