Upgrading My Apartment Decor With Art + More

As many of you know, I recently moved in with my boyfriend. Well, he actually moved in with me! I’ve been in my Richmond apartment in the Arts District for about two years. I really wanted to make it feel like a new home for both of us. After we sorted through what we both already owned, we turned to some of our favorite places to fill in the gaps in apartment decor: Amazon, Target, Ross, Marshall’s, and of course, Desenio.

You know I’m already a fan of Desenio and had art on my walls from the brand. When it was time to tone down some of the feminine flavor of my apartment decor, I turned to Desenio for new all art. We both love the beach, so I really wanted to infuse those elements into our new decor. I searched for art and items that showcased the textures and colors of the beach and all that it represents for us: calmness, freedom, love. I’m so happy with the modern and dreamy shapes I discovered.

The new wall art complimented items we already had: a faux palm tree, seashell-filled globes, tan and cream-colored blankets, fun tassel details, and more photos from my travels. I added in other new finds around the apartment, too. We worked hard to make the most of what we already had and I think we really nailed it. Whatever we didn’t have, I hunted for tirelessly. I’m pretty satisfied at this point! I found a new couch on Facebook Marketplace, rugs from Marshall’s and Amazon, woven table chargers from Target, lots of new lighting options from Home Goods, plant pots from all over, and a few other second-hand treasures.

After we put it all together, the art really pulled it all into a cohesive theme from the bedroom to the living room. It’s really *ours* and it feels just right. I’m excited for this new chapter in my life.
