How to Do Good By Shopping Online

How to Do Good When You Shop Online

Yesterday was Giving Tuesday and it got me thinking about the neat products, websites, and apps I have come across that offer quality products and help me carry out my life-long mission to make a difference. Basically, I am a girl with a gigantic heart and a small addiction to shopping online. Consider me your expert in this realm. As you continue your shopping for gifts for yourself and others this holiday season, I hope you will consider one of the sites below.

Amazon Smile

I have not met a person who hasn’t shopped on Amazon.com. Did you know every time you shop on Amazon, you can give back to a charity of your choice each time? I contribute to Kiva Microfunds, but you can change the nonprofit you support as often as you’d like.

Just go to Amazonsmile.com and use your Amazon ID and Password and quickly you’ll be taken back to a screen that looks just like Amazon, except for some tabs at the top left.

How about a cashmere sweater for your cutie?

Sevenly

Sevenly sells mostly t-shirts, but also some great accessories. Sevenly gives back $7 per item purchased on its site.

I wouldn’t mind getting this shirt.

Warby Parker

This is the epic glasses brand that has been knocking hipsters and preps alike on their bottoms in total obsession of its always on-trend and well made glasses. When you buy a pair of Warby Parker glasses, they donate a pair. Simple as that. Also, you can order five pairs of glasses to try on at home to decide which ones you want.

I would love to get a prescription pair of sunglasses. How about these?

Rawr.

Peacekeeper Cause-Metics

This site sells some divine looking makeup and nail polish. Peacekeeper Cause-Metics gives all of its after-tax profits to women’s health advocacy and human rights issues. In their words: “PeaceKeeper builds a bridge between extraordinary women in the land of plenty and extraordinary women who, by chance of birth, don’t have our resources or opportunities.”

This darker-skin tone “Love Box” looks great for some ladies I know. They do have a impressively diverse and affordable line of balms, glosses, and lip sticks. Most are $8. Why not try something new?

Have company, brand, product, or app that helps you give back while shopping for the best in fashion, makeup, and gifts? Send it to me! Better yet, write about it yourself and email it to me: sweetsauceblog@gmail.com.
