I remember when Short Pump Town Center was built. As a high schooler stuck in the sticks of Louisa County, it was a new beacon of hope for adventure. Ever since I’ve spent so much time at this outdoor mall over the years. For someone who’s done quite a bit of both shopping and traveling, I’ve enjoyed its magic more than any other. As we lock into the holiday season in a post-covid world, the outdoor mall offers a safe place to feel normal and even festive as you cross off your nice list. Every store has obviously increased their frequency and intensity of cleaning methods, social distancing reminders, and hand sanitizing options. There were fun reminders of the holidays all around and Short Pump Town Center is hosting events all season to make the visit even more fun.

Your Girls

When it comes to my lady friends, I always aim for something cute, small, and practical. I like to think of things I’d like but don’t usually buy for myself. I went to J.Crew for some darling socks and bracelets, Madewell for chic scarves and face masks, and Aerie for comfy lingerie.

Your Boys

My brother led me right to Zumies for a packed store of skater friendly shoes, hoodies, socks, and more. Tommy Bahama, Fossil, Oakley are all good choices for elevated, yet manly accessories like sunglasses and watches.

Your Cousins

I don’t know about you, but I have cousins in spades! Luckily we draw names so we don’t have to give to everyone. I went to Lush to pick up some dreamy and high-quality bathroom essentials. Lulu Lemon is also a great idea if they’re an active bunch.

The Parents

This is always hard. I have four parents! Food, wine, and comfy stuff always wins for my parents. At Short Pump Town Center, William Sonoma, Crate & Barrel, and Pottery Barn are all stocked with stuff like spices, serving trays, cookbooks, cute cooking utensils, and more. You can also pick up cozy blankets and pillows. For slippers and sweaters, head to L.L. Bean. No one ever was mad at some L.L. Bean gear in my family.

The In-Laws

I’ll second William Sonoma here. Not only can you find tools, but the store had a cute selection of coffee mugs. I picked one out with letters on the front–one for each of their first names. Pair it with fresh coffee, baking mixes, chocolate, and a cute spatula or spoon.

The Business Pals

I’d opt for something that will make your peers smile. A bit of sweetness will do. Head to Godiva for some high-quality chocolate. Pick up a gift card to dine at Lehja or Casa Del Barco for a gift to get them out of the house.
