I know what you all are thinking… why cardigans? Aren’t they a drab thing of the past? I thought so, too.

Until I recently, when I started to see some of my favorite fashion icons dress them up in the cutest new ways! Which inspired me to share some of those tricks with you, just in time for the cool weather to start rolling in. So, before you go and throw out that old cardigan your mom gave you, save it and give some of my tips a try. I promise you won’t regret it!

How To Style

1. Tucked

Truthfully, this is one of the easiest ways to dress up your cardigan and I cannot believe I never thought of it before. This look helps highlight your natural shape and gets rid of that straight silhouette that usually comes with a cardigan.

2. Oversized

I love a good oversized cardigan! They are perfect for fall because they have the ability to be thrown over jeans or a dress and help you transition between those chilly mornings to warmer days.

3. Cropped

Everyone loves a good cropped item because it allows you to show a little skin if you like or you can pair it with some high-waisted jeans to help lengthen your torso.

4. Mid-Length

This look may not be the best for us shorter gals out there. But it you pair it with some cute booties or heels for a night out then the mid-length cardigan can give you that cozy but cute look.

5. Belted

A good belt is always a must have in your closet because it is one of those accessories you can wear so many different ways. With this styling, it helps to accentuate the waist and add some contrast to your outfit without being too over the top.

6. Layered

The layered cardigan is a classic that I think will never go out of style. Its functionality is what makes it so simple because you can pair any neutral color with jeans and a t-shirt on your way out the door. While also adding some texture and warmth to your everyday look this fall.
