Date Night Look: Ruffle Wrap Dress from Vici Dolls

I’ve been in mourning. Saying goodbye to summer has been harder this year than usual. I’m not sure why. I think it’s because my freelance life has allowed me to soak up more rays than usual this summer. I not only have more control over my time, but some of my new clients send me out in the sun for adventures quite often. I’m just not ready to wear pants, ya’ll. I think that’s why I pulled the trigger on this sexy and sweet little wrap dress from Vici Dolls. I’d been stalking the brand for more than year now and I figured I may as well give it a try and let you know how it went. I don’t always shop online, but when I do, I tell you’ll about it.

Last Friday, I realized I didn’t have any plans except to catch up on a bit of work throughout the weekend via my laptop. I made a call at 9 p.m. to Virginia Beach hotels I found on Booking.com (I also love WebJet.com). So many were booked up because of the Neptune Festival, the summer’s last big hurrah in the beach town. I stayed in a cheap ass place about two blocks from the ocean front with my man. We lounged, we walked, we ate, and we talked. It was a welcome getaway during a stressful time for us.

The weather was colder than we thought. A jean jacket cured that pretty quickly. Wind was blowing us away wherever we went. That made the ruffles on this dress really fun to wear. This little date night look needed nothing more than a bit of lipstick and comfortable heels. I felt laid back, yet flirty in this look. For a casual date night, it was everything I could hope for.

I look forward to wearing it this fall with long layers, scarves and tall boots. I know it will become a fast favorite. It’s making my transition into fall a little less sad. As I write, I’m excited to enter into a new month, which is my birthday month! RVA Fall Fashion Weekend kicks off tonight, as well. I’ll need all the fun, flirty items I can get to take on October with a smile.
