Three Ways to Wear a Statement Skirt

You know those colorful, vibrant statement pieces that you fall in love with, buy, but when you get home, you’re scratching your head as you consider what to wear with? This polka dot skirt from LulaRoe is one of those. The brand is full of wild patterns that will make anyone smile and their fabrics are comfortable and flattering.

This skirt was no exception. It made me smile as soon as I slipped it on. But then, it hung for a week or so before inspiration struck. Lucky for you, I played dress up quite a few times. Below are three ways to wear a statement skirt to work, to drinks, to play.

Giveaway details: If you already you know you love this skirt and want to try some LulaRoe for yourself, enter my contest for $50 to spend! Simply Join Erin’s VIP Group on Facebook here! For Casual Drinks or Brunch

What really helps be plan out new outfits with statement pieces is figuring out who my audience is where I’m headed that day. This is a trick from the marketing field. I put together the below outfit for a casual meeting and a happy hour. I wanted to stand out a bit and used my signature color, pink. I didn’t want to go over the top, though. I pulled on my favorite nude heels and left all my jewelry at home. Shop the look: Shirt/Heels

For Work, Work, Work

There is something very pinup-ish about this skirt. After I threw on my Steve Madden pumps, I was feeling especially saucy. To tone it down, I reached for a more conservative shirt for a work friendly look. Don’t be afraid of mixing the same patterns! This polka dot on polka dot pairing kept the look fresh and interesting. Shop the look: Shirt/ Shoes

For Comfort and Joy

Pull out your graphic tees for a more comfortable and playful look. I scored this shirt at my closet swap last year. While I could have used any other graphic t-shirt to achieve this look, the simple pattern against the bright skirt seemed just funky enough without overloading the senses. Paired with my Keds and a jean jacket, I felt very LA cool. Shop the look: Shirt/ Shoes/ Jacket

Thank you so much for writing this! I’m still somewhat of a newbie to LuLaRoe and some of the patterns I love, but they intimidate me because I’m not sure what to wear with them, so I end up letting some slip by that I think are amazing.
I started my first ever LLR experience with Erin, and I still love to shop from her as well as other consultants now. (:
