Shopping for Booties This Week
Welcome to my new weekly feature, the Sweet Sauce Sunday Six! Here, I’ll share six things I’m shopping for, six people I love, six inspirational thoughts and more. End your weekend or start your week with something fun, refreshing, and totally useful. This week, I’m talking booties.
I love booties. They’re a more modern version of pumps. I buy them in wearable neutrals like I would heels so that I can pair them with just about anything. I slip them on with skirts and skinny jeans like I would a pair of stilettos. From jean shorts to jumpsuits, I rocked my black and tan leather booties from last fall straight into summer this year. As the temperatures drop, I’m wearing them even more. I’ve been hunting for more to add to my wardrobe. I found a bundle under $100 at a new favorite site, ZooShoo.com.
Metallic Lover
Metallic is in for fall. I’ve been struggling with how to incorporate it into my wardrobe. I never would have thought of booties. These are almost a neutral! I would rock them with a black work dress for daytime and with skinny black jeans and a slinky tank for night.
White Walkers
I fell in love with a pair of Rag & Bone booties like this last fall. They were way out of my budget. These babies are so adorable. I love the metal detail on the toe. Rock them under your flared jeans or tuck your skinny jeans into them with some fun socks peeping out.
Moscow Mule
Another big trend that is here to stay? Mules. Some have a dowdy look to them. These are sexy, yet totally wearable for casual outfits. Slip them on with some opaque tights and a sweater dress or rock a pair of leather leggings and a tunic.
Baby Blue Booties
We’re still in 2016 and Serenity Blue is still one of this year’s Pantone Colors of the Year. These adorable little baby blue booties are a comfortable way to keep your fall wardrobe bright and creative. You don’t have to go all dark just because the weather is changing. Wear this with your white skinny jeans and a cozy sweater. Wear them to work with a pair of cropped paints, button down, and a pastel scarf.
Holy Rollers
These low rider booties show some ankle for sex appeal while still feeling low key. The perforated detail mixes up the texture for a rock and roll vibe. Wear these with jean shorts and long sweater for a warmer fall day. Swap out for some olive skinny jeans for days with a fall breeze. Pick a fun sock to wear underneath.
Gray Day
If you need me, I’ll just be sliding these into my shopping cart right now. These gray booties are light to brighten up your darker fall looks, have a comfortable block heel, and show a little leg so you can feel sexy or add a funky pattern sock underneath. Did I mention they are only $30? What are you waiting for?
