Sephora Beauty Birthday Haul

Birthday Beauty Haul from Sephora

October is my birthday month, so you know what that means: lots of freebies and deals at my favorite retailers. I’m not much of an online shopper. One online shopping mecca place I order from more than any others is Sephora. I have dry, sensitive skin, a medium-sized budget, and a fabulous life to look food for. My money is worth the benefits I have reaped from one Sephora beauty haul after another.

As you know, you earn Sephora Beauty Insider points the more money you spend. I love cashing those in for free samples to test out. During your birthday month, the pot is even sweeter. I not only purchased some items on my wishlist like new highlighter, but I decided to try a few new items in my cart. The seasons are changing and I’m getting older, so I want to keep my beauty and skincare routine ever evolving. I’m alway curious for a new experiment. Every test I put my recent purchases through came out really well.

Let’s start with my favorite test result…

Milk Highlighters

My skin gets dry in the winter, so it’s the perfect time to invest in things that make me glow. A new highlighter would do the trick.  I love any kind of make up in stick form. It’s better than drying powders on my skin. It’s also efficient: swipe it on, rub it in. Enter this suite of  inlluminating, bronzing, and skin-perfecting sticks. I really loved the holographic stick (which I wrote for my Shining Star halloween costume) and the Highlighter in Lit. The Cooling Water was also a great sensation after hours on the computer or early mornings.

Boscia Exfoliating Peel Gel

This one is applied really strangely. It comes out like a dollop of clear gel. You smear it on your face in circular movements and it beads up. It sticks to dead skin cells and traps them in the gel as it forms tiny balls. My skin feels brighter and lighter every time.

Clinique High Impact Mascara

This came at just the right time. I was just getting low on a really great mascara from L’Oreal. When I saw the Clique High Impact Mascara was available for a sample, I knew I had to try. The mascara is rich, stays well, and does a lot of work with just one or two swipes on the lids. I think I’ll opt for the full size once this is done. Glad I added this to my Sephora beauty haul.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush

I think blush is my favorite beauty item. It can turn any rough looking day into a prettier one. I have a growing Tarte Blush collection. This stuff is made from largely natural products that never bother my skin. They are also highly pigmented. This one is the perfect coral for winter outfits featuring hues like yellow, maroon,  and orange. It was also good timing after my new hair!

Tarte Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Birthday Suit

I don’t have many matte lip colors. I shy away because of my dry skin. I never want to look more parched than I already am. I really loved the way this lip paint went on. I’d love to try the Selfish or Twerk, both excellent names for a gift of Lip Paint! You can see what it looks like on me here.

What is the bottle that says hydrating rose on it? I tried searching the website with those words and couldn’t find it 🙁
