NYFW Day 1: Animal Print Squared

When You Arrive in NYFW During a Blizzard, You Wear Animal Print

So, naturally, my first fashion week would be held during a blizzard. Thankfully, I took Amtrak, so I wasn’t delayed at all for my first day of shows at Madison Square Garden.

Knowing snow was in the forecast, I did a little bit of thrifting a few days before I left town. I found this faux fur animal print jacket. I knew it would keep me warm on the train and out in the elements.

When I first walked by this hat at Goodwill, I laughed. then I walked back to it. I thought, hey, that looks really warm. It might be something my grandma would wear, but it would go with most of of cold weather wardrobe. When the temperatures dropped to the teens and the wind started to blow, I didn’t care! I may have felt like a marshmallow, but I got some love from the people of New York.

You’ll notice my snakeskin bag in a lot of my NYFW outfit photos. I borrowed this baby from Fabrik in Carytown to get me through the week. I could fit everything I needed for the day in the bag, including a back up pair of shoes. A flask or two may have slipped in, but I didn’t see them…

I got this whole look for under $100! Take that, Gucci!
