A Day Trip to the Leesburg Corner Premium Outlets

shopping in leesburg

My dad has lived in Leesburg for most of the past 20 years. 10-15 years ago, I would go spend Saturdays at The Leesburg Corner Premium Outlets. This is where he would take me school shopping. I would wander around in Claire’s for hours it seemed like. He would wait patiently outside and agree to buy whatever I picked out. Old Navy was another favorite.

When I turned to my boyfriend to ask him if he wanted to go on a shopping trip with me to Leesburg and visit with my Dad, he was reluctant. But, he had a suit, a jean jacket and a few other essentials on his wish list I promised we would find for him. I, of course, had a few spring essentials I wanted to mine for.

It had been nearly 5 years since I’d been to the outlets. It was my first time going without parents. So, off we went camera in tow and a pocket full of change.

We were blown away and honestly surprised at how kind and curious the staff was. It was not at all the mall atmosphere we were used to in Richmond. Everyone seemed happy and even excited to be working. When we stopped in Sunglass Hut, it felt like a club. One of the women on the floor helped me try on nearly 10 pairs of glasses and spent time talking about her own favorites. She never once pushed me to purchase a pair.

During Memorial Day weekend, you can find extra savings in addition to the regular 25 to 65 percent off. The Outlets will even have live music from 1-3 on Saturday May 28. Get more details here.

Now, here is a photo diary of my favorite stops of the day:

Off Saks Fifth Avenue

Find all your favorite name brands here including Free People, Saks Fifth Avenue Brand, Tory Burch, Michael Kors, and Hugo Boss. I went home with a floral Yumi Kim romper. Isaac went home with a pair of dress shoes and a belt. All three were more than 50% off!

DKNY

Go here for the best fitting skinny jeans you’ve ever tried on. Send your man for an affordable, but high quality suit. We picked up these black jeans with a zipper ankle detail (one of the girls in the store recommended them!) and a gray jumper for me and a blue suit and rain coat for isaac. Who knew we would love DKNY so much?

Fossil

We both had watches on our list. We did a little his and hers shopping at Fossil. It was the biggest and best watch selection in the mall. Everything was even less expensive than we imagined.  Isaac took home two watches for less than $200.

Levi’s

I had never owned a pair of Levi’s! This was a jackpot for Isaac. He went home with two jean jackets, a pair of jeans, and a jean shirt. I stuck with a classic pair of high-rise skinny jeans. Can’t wait to rock them to Portland.

Kate Spade

I was kind of excited to stop here. I love the pop of Kate Spade’s patterns and the consistency of her brand. The store was PACKED. I scouted some gorgeous bags and printed shirts. Everything was more than 50% off. It was astounding. I went home with a pair of sunnies that I’m sure will become a signature in my outfits.

Nine West

One of my all time favorite shoe stores! The size 6 at Nine West fits my foot perfectly. I went home with these flats that I think will be perfect for work, play and travel. They were $40 compared to the $70 online. WOW!

We also stopped at Nike, Michael Kors, and Converse. All great gems with serious deals.

If you’re looking for the perfect day trip from Virginia Beach, Richmond, or Maryland, head to the outlets in Leesburg! Start your day with a smoothie from Bananas and an espresso from New England Coffee, both in the Food Court. Hit 4 stores, take a break and have lunch at the Food Court. We indulged in South Philly Steaks & Fries. Right before we ordered, a woman walked up to the counter and ask if they still had fried pickles. We figured they were good if she went out of her way to ask. We immediately added them to our order. They were salty, but perfect fuel after a few hours of shopping!

Hit a few more stores, or go back for an item you’ve gotten a chance to think over during lunch. Check in to the Leesburg Colonial Inn. Have a gourmet wood fire pizza dinner at Fire Works or a higher-end dinner from Tuscarora Grill aka “Tuskies.” Spend the next morning visiting South Street Under for a killer cup of coffee and breakfast. Walk around to check out some of historic houses and gorgeous city gardens–you won’t be disappointed!
