Closet Swap Recap

Y’ALL! The Get Hot Closet Swap was a true success. Friends, followers, and fellow fashionistas came out to the soiree hosted by me and Lizzy B of Press Plae. We welcomed women (and men) from all over Richmond to join us for a day of makeovers, shopping, networking, drinking, and eating. Watch the video above to step into my transformed apartment. Scroll down to see who was there and what went down. Photos by me and Lizzy B…

Brittany Ross of Blushed By B Ross  let the ladies in on make up tips and tricks. She talked contouring, BB Creams, and skin care. Did you know it’s okay to apply another layer of makeup at the end of the day when you’re getting ready for the night? I always thought you had to wash your face in between. Not true. Just wash your face before you go to bed. Brittany led the tutorial with our makeover winner, Ana. Check out her transformation! Tashena from Stella & Dot came to show off the brand’s Spring line of jewelry. You saw me rocking the Twilight necklace throughout the party. I was supposed to just me showing it off for guests, but I couldn’t take it off at the end and asked if I could buy it. I’ve worn it to work three times this week! Local artist Tiffany Sade joined us to show off her custom made clutches and eye wear. I’m going to order one of these leopard print clutches for myself with my next paycheck. Tiffany is pictured here with local blogger Jon Copeland of In My Fashion Blog and her bestie who came along for the party. It was so great to connect with you! I can’t wait to watch your business grow.

Now, let’s dive in to see some of the outfits we all created at the Closet Swap. The creative juices were flowing!

I had so much fun at the Swap! I’m a plus size gal, so I wasn’t sure that I would find anything that fit. To my surprise, I walked away with a fat sack of clothes, shoes, and accessories for me AND my 15 year old cousin (who ADORES the midnight blue cocktail/bridesmaid dress I picked up for her)!
If you were invited to a swap but haven’t gone, DO IT. The registration fee is totally worth the time and effort put into these events!!!
