Bad Ass Basics: Black Blouse + Gold Plated Choker

Back to the Basics: Black Blouse and Gold Plated Choker

Today is a pretty straight forward post. I discovered this blouse and choker at Mod & Soul in Richmond and had to have them. I’ve already worn the black blouse five different ways. It effortlessly tucks into high waisted jeans, skirts and trousers. When it’s not tucked in, it flows over my tummy when I wear skinny jeans or some flowing wide-leg pants. It’s a very low-cut stop.  If I’m heading into a work setting, I put a conservative back camisole underneath. If I’m heading out to drinks with the ladies, then I wear a lacy bralette or lace camisole. If I’m going out-out, I don’t wear a bra at all. That’s not an option for everyone, but ya girl wears a B cup so it doesn’t matter too much for me.

For a finishing touch, I added this gold plated choker. I’ve been wearing this sucker all over Richmond, actually. I love simple, gold jewelry pieces. I usually lean towards a more delicate flare, but I loved the strength this choker evoked. As my collection of black blouses grows, it seems to be the perfect match to polish off looks. It adds a bit of bad assery and I also feel put together.

I’ve found some other black blouses I love below for you to consider. All ranges of prices and shapes:

Here are some gold chokers you could stand to gaze upon:
