Bachelorette Weekend Essentials

My best friend is finally married! She tied the knot last weekend at Chestnut Hill in Orange, Virginia. I’m overwhelmed with happiness for her. As she takes her honeymoon voyage to Spain for the next two weeks, I’ll be sharing some tips I learned along the way about throwing your own great love-filled adventure. I also have a few other wedding themed-projects coming at you including my first published work as a stylist on Burnette’s Boards and a boudoir experience.

Today, let’s talk about what should be on your list to throw an epic bachelorette party. These are some things I found most pivotal to creating a great experience:

The Apps

venmo app for bachelorette partyPhotos and money–those are your priorities during any bachelorette weekend. You have to split the cost of the rental house, pay for big dinners together, spot your girlfriend when she forgets her card at the bar. There can never be a situation in which you won’t get paid back immediately if you download Venmo. It is  easier than Paypal. Once you download the app and link it to your bank account, you can send and receive money from anyone by locating their username on Venmo.

Everyone doesn’t have to play photographer at all times when you have PhotoCircle. With this app, you can create group albums where everyone can upload photos to as long as they have the pass code.  It works like Dropbox, but is much more mobile friendly.

The Props

This was my favorite photo opportunity for most of the weekend. One of the bridesmaids was smart enough to find the perfect batch of photo accessories for a bachelorette weekend. I found a printable version you can make yourself just like it on Etsy. There are many more great photos I won’t share here for your sake. Trust me, the props were worth it.

The Shirts

I found a similar version of these shirts on Pinterest and just had to have them made for our girls. The bride is sort of obsessed with monograms and she had just recently decided on her wedding hashtag, so I worked with the ladies at trend. to bring this vision to life. They were the perfect beach accessory and also great for wearing to get our hair done on the wedding day. I already helped another bridal party get their shirts made just like these. Feeling a like a winner about this one.

The Old School Wedding Night

As you know, we went to Charleston to spend the weekend for my friend’s bachelorette party. We were definitely NOT the only bachelorette crew there. We went out two nights. One night, we got all gussied up in our black dresses and the bride wore a pink dress. The other night, however, was much less pretty, and much more fun and weird. Before the bachelorette weekend, we all made our ways to thrift stores to find old bridesmaid dresses and helped the bride get her hands on an old wedding dress and ugly veil. We dumped on glitter and eyeshadow. The result was what you see above. We ran into a lot of other bachelorette parties in their tutus, flower crowns, and other fashionable ensembles. It was clear, though, we were the bells of the ball. The ugly dresses provided some kind of freedom to us and I highly suggest this new twist if you get the chance.

Have you tried the apps?
