A Pink Skirt, A Fashion Show, A Good Cause, and A Proposal

One July 28, the city of Richmond came out in style to support local designers and to raise money for a deserving organization, RAIN (Richmond Autism Integration Network). It was my honor to emcee the event! Here is a recap to make you feel like you were there.

What I Wore

My new shades from Old Navy (HUGE sale right now), my Rocksbox studs and bracelet (try it free with my code: sweetsaucexoxo), a necklace from Surface Handmade (You’ll notice I swapped it out for a different one during the event!), and of course, this stunning skirt from Trunk Up Boutique. I bought the ring you see later in the day from a local artist. She made it on the spot!

Who Was There

Local vendors showed up to show off their goods like those from Surface Handmade, Temple Textiles,  and Renee Kaelber. Local fashion blogger Jon Copeland made sure to strike a pose with me. He and I will be working on a project soon with Dress for Success! Stay tuned! Shanel, model and DJ, joined me on the mic to host the event and spread goodies to everyone from Teal Jayne Shine Blow Dry Bar, and Surface. I met the beauty behind PressPlae and look forward to seeing more of her around town. My other amazing friends and boyfriend showed up alongside hundreds of others who helped sell out the event!

The Show

All throughout the show, I was in awe of the quality of clothing on the runway. This was something different than we had all seen this spring at RVA Fashion Week. These clothes are sophisticated and ready to wear. We saw six different lines and designers: “is.” by Isabell Hall, “Chroma” and “Willow Knows” by Jennifer Gray and Jessica Lee, SocialMODE  by Melissa Jiannalone, “ARTEM” by Ally Polsen, Sadie by Stuart King, and Alton Lane by Colin Hunter and Peyton Jenkins.

The Proposal

As if miss Amanda, Event Coordinator for RAIN, hadn’t had a big enough day, her man got down on his knee and proposed to her at the end of the show! Needless to say, we all basically collapsed into a puddle of love and fashion. She was a beautiful mess. Congratulations to you and to RAIN!

A special thank you to Holden Taylor Photography and my friends who helped provide photos for this post!
