Thrifted Thursday: A Lilac Dress to Go with My New Hair

Guess what?! I have pink hair! Thanks to Shannon from Moore Street Studio, I have my favorite hair cut and color ever. Learn more about her in this blog post. While I don’t usually buy clothes to match my hair, I had a big wedding coming up. My boyfriend’s bother was getting married! Like a crazy person, I died my hair pink the Wednesday before the big day when I meet 5,567 of his family members. I thought a lilac dress would be the perfect way to compliment my hair and still look like a lady. Naturally, I went thrifting for an outfit to wear, with hopes of finding a lilac dress.

Turns out, I didn’t find a lilac dress appropriate for the formal wedding. BUT, I did find a blazer for my step son (nailed it!) and found this pretty lilac dress for other occasions including work (just add a blazer!), river trips (where are my sandals?), and lazy chore days at home (no bras allowed!).

So What did I actually wear to the wedding?

You can see what I wore to the wedding on Instagram here. This is my boyfriend’s favorite dress I own. He actually picked it out on this trip to Leesburg Premium Outlets. The bright blue was another great compliment to my new pink hair. It felt dressed up enough for a wedding and fun enough to make me feel like myself.
